Involved in an Accident?
If you are involved in an accident, try to remain calm and make sure you’re alright. If you’re not injured, make sure no one else in your vehicle (or the other vehicle) is hurt. If there has been an injury, call 911 for help. Do not leave the scene of the accident until all matters have been taken care of. Only move your vehicle if its position puts you in danger or you are instructed to move it by a police officer.
If needed, call Roadside Assistance or call for towing. You have the right to have your vehicle towed to the body shop of your choice, but we’d love for you to have it towed to Springhill Collision.
Remove your proof of insurance, registration and any valuables from your vehicle before it is towed away.
Collect important information you’ll need from the other driver, like:
- phone number
- driver’s license number
- vehicle license plate number
- vehicle make and model
- year and VIN
- insurance company and policy number
- general description of damage to both vehicles
If possible, call your insurance company from the scene. They’ll walk you through what they need.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is better:
overall or spot painting?
For an older vehicle, overall painting is a great choice, as complete repainting can increase its value. For newer vehicles, spot painting is better, as it protects their value. We paint where necessary and match the exact color for a seamless repair.
Can I change the vehicle’s color?
While we can do that for you, it’s best to keep the current color. Painting the inside of the trunk lid, doors and hood is a time-consuming process and can become costly.
Why can’t I view samples of your color options online?
The most accurate and best way to view colors and to achieve a perfect match is to see them in the correct light and with assistance from one of our technicians. We have thousands of colors to choose from, all with a lifetime guarantee against peeling and fading.
Should I pay for an accident repair myself, or allow my insurance company to handle it?
Insurance costs are increasing, meaning more people are paying for minor accident repairs themselves. We’ll also work with you on cost-saving options, and we have good relationships with all of the insurance companies we work with.
Why can’t I get an estimate over the phone?
Every case is different, and we want to make sure you receive an estimate that’s as accurate as possible. Hidden damages can be costly and confusing. Plus, we want to ensure you’re aware of all options and answer any questions you may have, so call us at (251) 460-1000.
